A selection of black and white drawings using the cross hatch style.
Ala Canggung drew all of the art you see on this page.
I like cross hatch so much. It not only looks good, but it also adds so much texture and depth to the piece it's applied to.
The more I look at the combination of images above, the more I like it. It's a wonderful way of showing the application of focus. In the first drawing, whilst reading a relaxing book, I see it as a divergent application of the power we possess. A way of letting go. A cosy comfort in the moment with no real thoughts in your mind, except for the story you are reading and the experiences you are living through in that world. In the second image the focus converges. The closer you get to a pinpoint, the more you are going to excel in the activity you are engaged in. Both require equal amounts of effort to achieve and perfect. Depending on the situation, having control of both extremes of focus is a thing that will serve you very well in life.
There isn't one overarching theme in this post, but rather a lovely eclectic mixture of different ideas and concepts. Actually, the one thing they have in common, which is they are relatable images. Very easy to make associations and bring up memories of your own life. If you give them a chance.
Now to the good part... The exploration of the page and Canggung's wonderful art.
Ps. I gave the images some titles.
