Glimpses of Cambodia in Sketches

Mainly pencil art, with one ink sketch right at the end.

As I said in the title, these are small glimpses of Cambodia that May makes us a part of.  They are mostly centred around village life and you will see a very interesting way of building homes above water.

There are many drawings that stand out for their originality, in this post.  The first and my favourite, is drawing number 2.   Apparently May encounters this duo on a daily basis.  When the man starts paying the flute, the dog turns its head back and forth to encourage people to come over and deposit money in the bucket.

The day out fishing is another one I like.  A lovely and relaxed moment in nature.  The person is enjoying the outdoors and the hope of a prize in the form of the freshest fish for lunch and/or dinner.

Finally the ornate and detailed design work of the Apsara dancer.  Traditional dances from the Cambodian Royal Ballet's repertoire.  Look at all of the work that has gone into the dress and the headgear.
