Comic-style sketchbook drawings, traditionally drawn in ink.
Lisa-Maria Rynebrant aka risataki drew all of the images you see on this page.
A very nice selection of characters contained in sketchbook sketches. Some of them come in different vignettes, whilst others are executed within a single image.
The one I like the most is the one that holds the least amount of drawing. It's image number seven. The artist is sitting in front of a blank canvas. I like it because of the different interpretation the piece can morph between. One of the common meanings associated with this image is artist's block. The artist is looking at a blank canvas/paper/screen and inspiration is nowhere to be seen. Another way of looking at it is the artist sitting down with plenty of ideas. The person is looking at the canvas to work out how all of these fantastic thoughts are going to be placed/arranged. I am sure most artists would opt for the second option.
When it comes to dynamism, my favourite is the first drawing. I like how the images overlap and you can follow a progression of the story, even though you don't know exactly what is going on. Another aspect is the contrast between expressions showing with intensity and relaxed postures/behaviours.
Lovely style and execution make these pieces a pleasure to look at. If I understand it correctly, the artist is launching a comic. I think it's represented by the last image on this page. So check out risataki's work. to see more of it.
