Jean-Paul Bordier drew all of the art you see on this page.

These are black and white graphite pencil drawings. They are not quick sketches. In fact, you can see all of the work that has gone into them. They don't come across as fast drawing studies, but as a thought-through gathering together of ideas that are taken a few steps further than the initial concept.

Bordier is a professional artist and this is what is written on the Instagram page: "Drawing for French comics."

I think that the professional part and approach seem to come through the immaculate cleanliness of the pages. Another aspect that impresses me is the way these images are arranged. You definitively get a sense of tidy, without all of the images being lined up on a predetermined line/s.

I have three favourite images and they all include animals only. That is not the reason for my choice. I just love the subject matter.

The first is the one of the tigers. So many beautiful and varied poses of this magnificent animal. The second one includes the apes and monkeys. The drawings really capture the beauty of these animals and that they have so much in common with us. The last one is of the heron. Like with the tigers, there are so many different poses, including the ones of these birds in flight. This last part is examined in successive drawings showing the wing in different modes of use.

Bordier does a fantastic job at capturing all of these gorgeous aspects and details in the images depicted. Look around this post and see what you think.
