Drawings of forgotten People in front of Us

Joel Daniel Phillips is an amazing American artist, that uses his art to highlight the problem of poverty and homelessness that exists all over the world.  The people in this posts are the people that live near Phillips' home, that he encounters daily.  For all of the positive attention these people get from the rest of us, they might as well be ghosts. When we went through the process of organising the photographs of Phillips' work, we noticed that we had taken away the Names of the people they represented, making them disappear once more, as names are one of the things that define us as people.  Once we realised what we did, we went through re labelling all of them, giving them back their names and hopefully convey the idea that they are people like us.  This proved to us, just how easy it is, to disappear from view, these men and women, when dealing and concentrating on our day to day lives.  We should pause and make ourselves notice more often...
