Celebrity Pencil Drawings with a Soft Finish

Ukrainian Artist Tetiana Likhachova aka Tenda Lee drew all of the likenesses you see on this page.

The thing I like the most is the soft application of the pencil and the finish of the portraits. That and the lovely detailing go hand in hand to make the experience of travelling down the page an interesting one.

The likeness that stands out the most for me is the second one. There is so much to like about it. I will give you short bullet points to make this point clearer. The first is the contrast in the hair. More specifically, the lengths of the top contrasted with the side. They are both illustrated wonderfully. All of the individual strands are shown perfectly and the highlights are all there in the long hair. The precision of the short hair, all aligned in the direction of the face to the back of the head. Then, we move to the tattoo making its way from the shoulder to the neck. Following that, the details of the coat and the vintage-style microphone. I left the best for last. I am talking about the expression. As it is so often the case, the expression is not only in the eyes. It starts there, then spreads to other parts of the face. Most commonly, the eyebrows and the forehead. It's when you see the movement and creases in this area that you are viewing the transformation taking place. This is an intense look, but not menacing. More like power in silence.

Many of these qualities are replicated, in their own way, in the rest of the drawings in this post. This one, though, is the one for me. It excels in bringing them all together.
