Animals drawn in black and white using a mix of marker pens, chalk and acrylic paint.
A dreamlike state, is exactly what they remind me of, for different reasons, some because they are works in progress (WIP), others, because they have that detailed wavy arrangement around them, that almost look like stylised clouds. Sol W. Whiteside is the British Illustrator, that conceived these beautifully fluid figures. I like the fact that modern artist like to experience with different formulas when it comes to creating art, adopting a mixed media approach to it. We seem to like, as a species, to put things into neat tidy boxes and if it doesn't fit in a box, there is no place for it. In art, the equivalent is having categories and sub categories of it, for example: drawings, paintings, photography... For drawings the subset are: graphite, color pencils, charcoal, pastels... I am not saying that you can't just stick to one medium, but I also like to see artist bring together the qualities of different forms of art, to create something that is more than the sums of its parts. All that said, now to the real treat, enjoying the drawings.
