Charcoal Pencil and Chalk Portraits

00-Mohammad-S-Neghabi‌-Portraits-www-designstack-co
A stranger, an unknown waiting to be discovered.

Iranian Artist Mohammad S Neghabi‌ uses some, or a combination of the following Mediums in his portraits: Charcoal Pencil and Chalk.

These three components plus, the color of the paper background, seem to almost lift the drawings off of the page; making any lines and features stand out, in a very subtle and distinctive way.

I have said before that, through someone's expression you can guess what a person might be thinking or feeling. The difficulty lies is the cause of that particular expression. I gave an example of this in the fifth and sixth drawing. I have no idea if that is what they were doing, but to me, it looks like they could be enjoying these activities.

Neghabi‌'s last drawing, will hopefully set the tone for the week you have just commenced.

Ps. I gave the images some titles.

  1. Ok, after so many (not just the things you send out but looking at other sites as well) drawings, paintings, digital art with pouty lipped women or evil eyed guys, these drawings are refreshing. Why because they actually do observe life as it is! The last drawing (a smile) is an example of real personality captured. Not posed or presumed, but actually given. Oh heck, I feel that way about each one of these drawings. They have a uniqueness to them that is not often seen these days in drawings by artists. Each drawing truely represents a life and the feelings that go along w that life. I feel this artist goes beyone pleasing a public opinion and gives us not just fantastic technique, but life as it really is.
The eyes on each of these subjects reflects something different, something unique to their personalities. The faces speak with out words. I really feel these drawings are like life.
