We start with an illustration of the tortoise and the hare. The others have stories as well, with a lot of different quirky aspects to them, as varied as your mind can make them.

It has been a year of stop and start quarantines, self-isolation and loads of free time for some, with not much to do. At the same time the major source of entertainment for people, movies TV series and panel shows have suffered as a consequence.

Many people have discovered or re-discovered the joy of reading. The imagination side of our brains hungry for exercise, have latched on to books in a way that you can't really do with a moving picture.

The author only explains so much, it allows you to fill in the gaps and to personalise the story with your imagination. When you are looking at a movie your brain goes into neutral and you are pushed forward with no interaction or penalisation.

I don't know if this resonates with anybody else: a good book can be an excellent read (by the time you add your own thoughts). A good movie, will not become an excellent one, by the time you have finished watching it.

My advice is, find a genre that interests you and read a physical book or one on your electronic device. Give it a try and enjoy the experience. It's one that lasts the length of the book and some last a long time. Even after you finished reading it.
