Sepia Architectural Drawing Sketches

Fineliner drawings and sketching.

Johan C is an architectural artist based in Belgium. Most of his work takes place in situ. (in place). This way, he has a chance to absorb the atmosphere as well as the likeness of the building and places he visits.

He records on his social media page, he sometimes makes an exception to this rule, by taking a photo. It's when it's too cold to sit there for a prolonged amount of time or when there were the covid travel restrictions.

Picking up on the title and the sepia reference. It's a beautiful touch that mimics the filter on photographic cameras, to give a photo that vintage look and feel.

The best works and presentations are full of small touches that add to the appreciation of the finish piece. Smart and seasoned artists, make good and subtle use of them, to level up their work.

Beautiful sketches. Just a comment about the 'sepia' reference: sepia photographs are not produced using a filter on the camera, the effect results from a particular printing technique which introduces this characteristic tint to monochromatic images. Some digital cameras have a function that mimics this effect but the resulting images lack the subtlety of genuine sepia prints.
