Insect life in digital art and amazing looking jewellery.
Sasha Vinogradova AKA (Melaamory) is an LA based digital artist and illustrator. She explores a variety of themes in her work. The ones I have chosen for today's post are her jewel insects.
All drawn and painted using digital art, these pieces are exalted by the use of a black background. It has an almost magical property when it comes to making the colors and details pop.
Beautifully intricate designs which, I can actually see being made in actual glass, metal and stones broaches, necklaces and other items of jewellery.
Plus, I like that this is a page all about insects. Their value in our world is so often undervalued if not ignored completely. We are taught from a young age that they are simply pests to be gotten rid of.
Then there is their beauty. I know... Insect and beauty, the perfect example of an oxymoron, right? I do see beauty in their design, colouration and movement.
You are probably reading this whist vigorously shaking your head and repeating in your mind: NO! NO! NO!... : ) Maybe, you can see some of the beauty I was speaking of above?
Have a look and see if you can find it.
