3D Interactive Street Art Drawings

A look at 3D interactive street art, drawn using pastel sticks.

American Artist Kurt Wenner is famous around the world for his work. Started off drawing illustrations for NASA. He them moved to Rome, Italy and studied the architecture and scenes of the city. He sold some of his work to tourists, to finance his stay.

On his way to the Vatican each day, he would encounter artists of his age using chalk to create classics of art. He was invited to try this medium and within a year his 3D pavement art was born.

News spread of this new technique and National Geographic travelled to Italy to record it. It was a proper documentary not only showcasing the work, but also the challenges of creating art out in the open. Leaning on the mercy of the elements to allow him to complete his work.

As you can see on this page, there are many large drawings, but none like the first one, the scale is staggering. There are so many aspects of Wenner's work that truly astonishes and impresses when looked at.

I hope you enjoy his wok and your Sunday.
