We previously featured Lisa Nilsson's work regarding quilling in anatomy. This time, is the chance to see her paper carpets and her interpretation of a gospel book cover.
Quilling is a craft that uses strips of paper rolled and glued to create images or patterns. These representations are very cleverly done, gilded edges of old books are used to make the lines even more interesting.
A lot of patience, a keen eye for detail and style make sure that these paper creation end up looking so much more than the sums of their parts.
Below, three different designs. They are explored in more detail, thanks to the zoomed in images.
Another amazing medium though which art can express itself.
