Calm and serene graphite pencil drawings of nature.

Dutch artist Corne Akkers was featured on our site recently for his cubist portraits. Today, a very different sight featuring canals, forests and individual trees.

As I said above, lovely quiet and relaxing scenes, which show the beauty of nature. Sights in different times of day, including the night.

Even though the illustrations are not intended to be realistic, they truly feel like a view of the real thing. An instinct presses me to try and pickup the smells and sounds so pleasant and well known, in these lovely images. A true sign of the power of art.

If you are working this Sunday and need to experience some peace and tranquillity, I hope Akkers's work does just the job. Have a fantastic day wherever you are and whatever you are doing.
