Renn Tanner has different approaches for the drawings on this page. I will list some of the main aspects below.
I love the blue pencil colour. Not sure exactly why... I think it's seeing something we are not used to. We are usually presented with the grey of the graphite pencil. In most of the examples below, the artist gives the illustrations a more colourful and bright tone.
There are many tutorial drawings. In these, Tanner labels the different sections of the bird of choice. From body labels and feather drawings, to a full skeleton.
A lot of motions in the animals, from a bird taking off, to one landing.
Lastly but not leastly, the minimalist drawings in the form of the falcon and the fox.
