An artist that paints and draws in a sketchbook with many different mediums.

Polina aka Polarts_iv drew and painted all of the art you see on this page.

I mentioned above the different mediums. The following are the ones I can discern. We can start with graphite, color pencils, charcoal, fountain pen, ending with watercolor paintings.

Some of the portraits are left in between. They are part drawing and part painting.

There are other aspects that heighten the interest in the art.

The first one is the divide between the human and fantasy characters. Take, for example, the depictions of elves.

One of the other features are the expressions. Many of them are subtle and others are a little louder than the first.

The first image below shows the divide between drawing and painting. A before and after treatment, or two sides of the same art (portraits).

I really like the precision and subtlety with which the second piece was executed. The steely expression fits perfectly with the look of the character.

The third picture is one that leaves a lot to the imagination. I can't read the thoughts, but I can read the expression. Whatever the character is conveying with that expression, it is one that is loaded. With what, I don't know. That said, I can tell there is a lot of unburdening that is waiting to come out.

That is one aspect I truly like about portraits. It's the interpretation that goes with the face. A world of reasons you have no access to, but one you can guess at.
