Silly Jellie drew and painted all of these creature depictions.
A school of mermaids? A group? I know... So many mermaids to see in this post. These mythical creatures are taking aspects of human life and making them their own.
There is a good amount of artistic flair in Jellie's work. Plus, these beings are adorned with clothes and fins you don't usually see in conventional mermaid art.
Many of these pieces are contained in sketchbooks and the rest are on loose sheets.
I love the patterns that the watercolor paint creates on the body of these marine beings. For a fantastic example of it, have a look at the first image. The one of the purple mermaid.
The second one is another one of my favourites. The one of the mermaid working on the embroidery. On this piece, it's all about the size and drawing work that go into the tail and specifically that gorgeous fin.
The third also matches its position on this page. This one is a more refined and minimalist look, when compared to many of the others.
The art and the list of lovely details continue as you follow them down the page. I hope you plunge to the depths of the bottom.
Enjoy the depth of the ocean with some of its most mysterious creatures.
