Architecture captured in a travel sketchbook journal.
Artist and Architect Andrea Yi Deng drew all of the art you see on this page.
If I understand it correctly, Deng not only draws but also teaches drawing classes. Some of the classes take place on location. I have seen, on the artist's social media page, invites to book a trip to Tokyo Japan to go around and draw the sights.
Being an artist and drawing/painting your way across the world must be satisfaction enough. Teaching others as part of your work, whilst travelling, must be such an amazing experience. Not only do you get to see amazing sights, but you get to see them through the eyes of your students.
In this post there are quite a few buildings and locations set in Italy. I wonder if it was the destination of a previous tour.
I tried to select the images with a bit of variety. I didn't just pick famous places known across the world. An example of this point can be seen in the first two pictures below. One is a lovely walk along the river. You can see people, a building and a bridge ahead of the artist. It's as if Deng is walking with them. The second one depicts people at a cafe having a drink whilst watching the people going about their business. These two are definitely my favourites.
How about you? Any place you would like to visit? If you are an artist, which place would you most like to visit and what scene would you like to depict?
