Star Wars & other Miniature Paintings and drawings

Karen Libecap has been immersed in art since she was born, as her mother is a painter and wood carver.  Libecap owns and operates her own photography studio and loves to express her art in may different mediums such as watercolor, acrylics, clay and wax.  Today we are going to have a look at her miniature Drawings and Paintings that for their size, contain a lot of detail.

Star Wars Miniature Drawings

British Artist Paul Jackson now works in Toronto and this is a direct quote from him "I love drawing stuff - the weirder the better."  This is the second post on Star Wars this week, but with the new film having just come out, we thought we would celebrate the occasion.  Even though this post is about miniature Star Wars Drawings, we wanted to add just a few more of his illustrations, as they are really cool, like for example, Charles Darwin with his Brain being 3D Printed, very deep and full of symbolism.

Brilliantly imaginative Web designer and photographer from Poland, Pawel Kadysz gives us some insight into what the Lord Sith, Darth Vader,  might have been doing with his spare time when he wasn't at work.  With the latest instalment of Star Wars just out on the big screen, we can see one of the main protagonists of the previous 2 trilogies at his best, during his time off.

American Illustrator and Designer Corbyn S. Kern has a real passion for pop culture, which is represented in his illustrations of characters from famous Movies and Television Series.  We have chosen, from the multitude of subjects, three of our favourites, Game of Thrones, Star Trek and Star Wars.  We have displayed them in that order below.

Star Wars, Environmentally Friendly Upcycling and Recycling

Gabriel Dishaw, is an Artist that uses his imagination, to focus our attention, on to the amount of items we send to the landfill every year.  It all started when he was at school in 9th grade, during an art class his teacher gave the students, 30 possible options for an art project, Dishaw chose "Junk Art" and he won 1st price, in the 3D category.  As mentioned above he is hoping that his art continues the conversation that more and more people are having around the word, to curb our seemingly insatiable appetite for waste.  Among his themes we have chosen his Star Wars one, for today's post.

Superheroes in the 1600s

French Photographer Sacha Goldberger inspired by Flemish paintings, mostly the ones from famous Dutch painter Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn from the 1600s.  Goldberger imagines how the painter would have depicted superheroes and characters from films, had they been part of the folklore of the time.  Amongst the films he covers are: Batman, Spider-Man, Star Wars, X-Men Wolverine, Superman, The Hulk, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, Captain America and many more...

Star Wars Trilogy IV-V-VI Watercolors

French Illustrator and Designer Clémentine Campardou aka (Blule), creates these beautifully minimalistic watercolors.  Of all her work, we have chosen to show her Star Wars inspired paintings.  With the new films set to come to the big screen in December 2015, we really hope they will be as good as the first trilogy and not the second one.  Enjoy her beautiful work.

Paintings of Star Wars worlds in Watercolors

Statues of Star Wars Characters

Travis Durden is a pseudonym, for a Parisian artist that would prefer us to concentrate on his art, rather than on him.  As you can see, he takes well known characters from the Star Wars franchise and shows them off as marble statues.  This is a quote and an explanation from the Artist's site, "Fascinated by the construction of myths & idols, he interrogates how we, as humans, determine what will be raised to popular culture or elevated to divine cult, and how history has influenced us in making this choice".

Wars on Kinkade Paintings

Incredible Mashup between Thomas Kinkade and Star Wars.  Thomas Kinkade was an American Painter that was famous for his peaceful picture perfect and idyllic scenes.  These paintings couldn't contrast more with the images of the Dark Side of Star Wars. Stormtroopers, a Rancor and the Imperial Ships.  Jeff Bennett brings these two worlds together in these very funny Paintings.

Star Wars and Game of Thrones Mashup

Canadian Artist, now working out of California, Andrew D Tran aka (Doctaword), is living his dream, creating and sharing his art.  We have chosen, for today's post, his Star War and Game of Thrones Mashup, where some of the most popular protagonists of the GoT series are dressed up and model apparel from the Star Wars universe.  The GoT series is over for another year, this is just a parting gift to last until next year.  As far as Star Wars Episode VIII is concerned, we have an even longer wait, December 2017.
