Hawaiian Painter and Sculptor
Alison Moritsugu is quite different form your average artist, as she produces, some of her art on tree logs. These paintings look so amazing and a lot of it comes from the inherent character of the log she uses. In some cases she uses a multitude of log sections, to depict a bigger scene, think of it as looking at an image from a perforated wall. The GIF animation below depicts a view of the Djerassi Hills painted where the tree lies, the painting is allowed to weather and age outdoors with the rest of the trunk. Enjoy all of the variations on the theme, Moritsugu comes up with.
