Emanuele Dascanio is a very gifted Italian Artist, that uses a lot of the Old Masters techniques, to produce his Pencil and Charcoal drawings. We have chosen the Depositio Maddalenae, as the drawing at the centre of this post. Even though the video below, is in Italian, we thought that it gives a really nice overview of this lovely use of clothing to cover and compliment the pose of the model. The drawing that took 850 hours, is not meant to be sexy or provocative, but to be tasteful, with a sense of abandonment and vulnerability.
