Artist and Doctor, Marat Utamuratov from Kazakhstan, not only displays finished drawings but also WIPs (works in progress). As those of you who follow our post on a regular basis probably know, in some ways I prefer these intermediate stages to the finished drawing. There are a lot of different facets to love about them: a glimpse into the technique of the artist, the mystery hidden in the unfinished parts, the complete turnaround of the expression, or the look of a portrait, when it's finished... Successive WIPs of a portrait, work like pages of a book, you read the words and you pick up the hints, but you are not sure of how the story is going to end, till you have reached the last page.
