Intricate Drawings of Trees

This is a first for DesignStack, a post dedicated entirely to intricate drawings of trees.
In art, trees are usually just a small part of the scenery, but never the main focus of a drawing composition.  Today, with Artist Dina Brodsky, that is all going to change, they are going to take centre stage.  There are a couple of exceptions, where they are included with some architectural drawings, but even then, on a separate page of a Moleskine journal, making them as important as each other.  Brodsky calls this portion of her work:  "Secret Life of Trees" which is, in my opinion, the perfect title, that adds mystery and interest, in a deceptively still part of nature, we too often ignore, or take for granted.  For those interested in the medium used in this post, the drawings seem to be a mixture of different types of ink pens and graphite pencil.

  1. I love the bones of a tree. These are great. It make me feel for the time the tree has been alive. Wondering what all it has experienced.

    1. Old Tjikko is a 9,550 year-old Norway Spruce, located on FulufjÀllet Mountain of Dalarna province in Sweden. Can you imagine all that it has witnessed? They are nature's timekeepers.
