Mirror Realistic Pencil Drawings

Surreal views of landscapes and rooms.

Artist Eric Green had a love and aptitude for arts from a young age, but took a very unconventional road to get to where he is at the moment. I will let the words on his site explain.

"Eric Green was given a full scholarship to the Rhode Island School of Design at the age of sixteen. After attending the school for a week, he left to ride freight trains across the country, spending four years on the road.

In addition to painting for thirty years, he worked in a frame shop, assembled pulp testers, traveled with a carnival, restored houses, painted industrial buildings from a hanging scaffold, and designed two labels for Brazilian beers."

All these experiences have given Green a perspective that differs from the one of most of his fellow artists. It shows in the art pieces below.

It's difficult enough to make one flawless drawing but to replicate in such a realistic manner, in a mirror image, is added difficulty.

I don't know if it was done to dispel the thought that only one side was drawn and then the second digitally copied. Or to add a little deviation to dismiss the myth of perfection, but Green added some purposeful differences.

Look at the first Landscape, the front of the building on the first floor. There is a dim glow of light on the room on the left but not on the one on the right. Plus look at the lights on the railroad...

An imperfection that makes the drawing as a whole, a perfect view.

    1. Different people have different tastes and that is why we try and offer an array forms of art.

As long as it's polite and not always focusing on the negative we are happy to have all points of view.

Thank you very much for your comment and I am happy you like the drawings.

As I said in the written part at the top, I find a lot to like about them.

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and weekend. 🌿️🌺️🌿️

  3. Only a boring mind would find these boring. Art is only as good as the viewer. Fiction is only as good as the reader. Thus great artists like Van Gogh remain unappreciated for long periods of time.

    1. I find that taste in people including me, can be an ever evolving thing. It goes both ways: Things we liked we don't any more and vice versa.

I think that most of what we see and don't in art, is dictated by our experiences. It's almost like a language translator. If the translator is not equipped with the right language, all we hear is unintelligible noise. The same thing goes for art.

There is so much art out there. Even if we stick to only the one we like, we will never go board or run out. I tell people not to get angry if they don't like a piece of art. Just move on to something you do. That is what I was trying to tell the person in the first comment.

Thank you so much for your comment and don't forget that we publish new art every day of the year. Keep following us at:
