Minimalist Charcoal Chalk and Pastel Portraits

Minimalist drawings, with colourful backgrounds.

Iraqi Artist Husam Wleed is on DesignStack once again. More of his lovely art and stile, here to admire.

In minimalism, even though some aspects are realistic, the emphasis is not on adding every detail present in a normal portrait. In a way, it's a highlight of the features the artist wants us to pay attention to.

These drawings are achieved using a mixture of charcoal, chalk and pastel.

The glistening details across the various parts of the face are, in a way, a trademark of his.

There is so much to like about these likenesses. From the colour and depth of the eyes, the amazing expressions, to the emotions permeating though the poses.

You have had a preview thanks to the drawings above. Now the chance to see the complete piece. Press the images if you want to see them at larger scale.

Ps. I gave the images some titles.
