Hatched in Prison - Carvings on Ostrich Eggs

Gil Batle, who is now 53, spent 20 years in an out 5 different Californian prisons, for fraud and forgery,  where he learnt to Draw and to Tattoo.  These two skills really helped his stay away from the worst of the abuses that happened daily around him, it afforded him a protection that many of the people in there, would only receive if they fought for it.  Having moved to the Philippines, his parents country of origin, he now creates carvings on the fragile ostrich eggs.  He depict the stories of the people he came to know, in an almost parallel universe, where most of us, have no concept of what goes on, on a day to day basis.  The images look amazing but, the video below, really bring it to live, in Jargon he actually carves text, amazing...

Portuguese Graffiti Artist Odeith creates Anamorphic Graffiti Drawings, bringing a popular style of drawing like the 3D Anamorphic to the world of graffiti.  An Anamorphic image can be seen in its intended 3D view, when observed from a specific angle.  Beautiful lines and Colours, plus incredible shading, really make these graffiti, literally stand out.  We have included a video in which Odeith creates one of his drawings, plus all the images can be enlarged when pressed, not the first one.  There is a high demand for these skills, as Odeith, has created large scale murals for major national and international businesses.  Local Authorities should think about providing walls for young inexperienced artist to practice on, the same way they provide skateboard parks, and maybe they wouldn't feel the need practice people's properties?

Italian Artist Dito von Tease uses his or her finger to design a multitude of portraits from politicians, celebrities, religious leaders, to cartoons and many more, using photo manipulation software.  At first we thought it was a bit of fun but when you see the way this artist has commercialised this niche type of artwork, we were impressed.  It has been used for advertising campaigns, book illustration, an App  to create your own images, mobile covers and many more outlets, which makes this idea really remarkable. Dito (finger in Italian) was inspired by Dita Von Teese when it came to choosing a name.  The artist hides his or her identity behind these creations not revealing anything about her or himself.

iPad Hyper-realistic Portraits

UK based Visual Artist and Illustrator Kyle Lambert with a background in Oil Paintings, loves to combine Art, Technology and Storytelling to come up with these impressive Photo realistic Images.  We have included two videos, showing how he achieves these close likenesses.  For those thinking that because it was done on the iPad it is automatically more easy, he builds up the colours and the the light and shadows just like you would do if you were doing it on canvas or paper.  He has an impressive list of clients that include Apple, Adobe, BBC, CQ Magazine...
