A lovely sequence of drawings exploring the artist's artistic interpretation of video games.
Brazilian Artist Gabriel Picolo drew all of the illustrations you see on this page.
Many of the sketches and doodles you see below are Picolo's view of these games. Many of them are vintage, with some still played today.
I am fascinated by the extraordinary amount of detailing that goes into each one of these drawings. The precision and the neatness are other aspects that impress. And so does the perfect saturation of the black content on the page. They are all in black and white and contained in a sketchbook.
My favourite two drawings are the 1st and 2nd. It's mostly for the sheer amount of detailing contained in both. You find yourself exploring and studying both, especially the second. As you go through checking out each character, you will find them closely positioned to others above, below and to the sides. It's a really packed session.
I don't know if there is planning in the form of a rough pencil sketch or if the artist just goes in and works it out as he goes along...

Actually, there is another drawing I want to mention. That is an exploded view of the Game Boy. You get to see some of the games contained in it. Nice touch.
Can you remember playing any of these games? Are you playing any of them now?
