Ballpoint pen sketches that are closely approaching realistic drawings.
Luiz Henrique drew all of the images you see on this page.
Ballpoint pens are alright to write with. When it comes to drawing, though, they are not as obliging and they are merciless when it comes to mistakes. All of these likenesses of people and animals, as I said above, are inching towards perfection.
I have alternated humans and critters to break up the post and to add a little contrast in the viewing. They are both as good as each other, but require a different set of details and skills to illustrate.
One of the aspects I most like is the ink treatment of the clothing of the women on this page. It's a brave move on Henrique's part, as they are of a complex design. The good news is that a great execution sees these people beam in the scene.
Here I am mostly talking about people, as I take a moment to mention those fantastic expressions. Sorry. Before I continue, I need to add something: I want to refer to the scale of these drawings. In most of them there is a pen that gives you an idea of scale. Once you have that and you see the sizes of some of the heads... That much detailing in such a small area... I had to mention this when talking about expressions. Just look at those smiles, frowns and stares. Each one of them showcases and gives depth in their description of the moment they are living in. There are so many examples that I am sure you will find them with ease.
A fantastic post to end the week and one that I hope will put you in the best of moods to make the most of your Sunday.
Enjoy Henrique's art and your day.
