Starting with a simple sketch to arrive at a more realistic view of objects and animals.
Sion T aka sky_burnt_sionna drew all of the art you see on this page.
This combines what we saw in yesterday's post (straightforward drawing studies) and a transition from sketch to a more realistic finished piece.
I will start with the last drawing on the page. The depiction of the croissant. In this particular study, the artist actually shows the shape the flour dough should be cut in and the direction of rolling. You get all sorts of finishes to the drawing. Including a section through the middle.
As far as complexity, I like the first drawing. The one of the shell. You get to see it in a different perspective, with the central one as the star of the show. I love the way that you see the curvatures of the inner part as they work their way to the top of the shell.
As far as animals are concerned, the octopus and the frog are the ones that I gravitate towards the most. How about you? Which one/s would you choose?
Ps. I gave the images some titles.
