A week full of animal drawings and today, a very distinctive design style.
Richard Powell drew all of the beings on this page.
The first two drawing studies are the ones that showcase the qualities I like the best in this artist's work. Specifically, the drawings of the dogs and the elephants. I really love that fluid motion of the lines in both animals.
The first drawing (the dogs) almost looks like segments of an animation reel. Where you have a dog perform different actions in quick succession.
The second one is mainly of an elephant playing with that large ball. Different angles and perspectives are used to study different poses. I adore the playful situation and the look on the elephant's face.
