This is the second time we have featured the photographs of Alexander Khoklov together with another amazing paint job by extremely talented Russian make-up artist Valeriya Kutsan. This collections of Body Paints is called called “2D Or Not 2D”. Kutsan sets out to take a 3D form like the face and make look 2D, when painting on canvas we try and do the reverse, we have a 2D canvas but use shadows and colours to make it look 3D. Their previous collaboration (Black & White Face Photography) has been very popular on our site and I hope you like their new work as much we do.

American Artist and body painter transforms her real life models into 2D paintings. One of her pieces is a life performance art piece, in which she had one of her models walk, all made up, around the the DC Metro. Alexa Meade does not use Photoshop in any of her Photographs. We have included a Video of a talk Meade has made, explaining the journey she took to get to the present and her work "Your body is my canvas". More pictures after the video.

Imaginative and different to your normal Coffee or Latte. It must take some skill to come up with these foam designs and sculptures before the foam dissipates. You will see in the photos that some sculpture span 2 cups. These mini sculptures in a cup can be purchased at Café 10g, created by Japanese Artist Kazuki Yamamoto. Enjoy, now I want a Latte.

Flat Pack Furniture, the 2D Stool that Becomes 3D
Jongha Choi is an inventor, he is one of those people that if something doesn’t work properly, or if there isn’t a machine to provide a certain function, he doesn’t just sit back and make do without, Choi tries to solve the problem. Amongst his ideas we have chosen his De-dimension stools, they appear flat and can be hung on walls, when needed, they can be taken down and transformed into 3D structure. If you want to see more amazing furniture have a look on the left of the page, under Design and Architecture - Furniture Space Saving.

Ripple Maker is the culmination of all the coffee art that we have seen in the past, some of which we have featured here on Design Stack (links below, in the post). Most of the past drawings were made by hand or by machine with limited scope for diversity of imagery. There is a video below that will explain all of the features of the machine. To sum them up the owner of the machine can use a bank of drawings provided with the machine, to which he or she can add their own drawings or photos. The beauty is that the customers can get in on the act as well, by uploading their own pictures. Imagine the café owner can print on your coffee any specials the have going on at the time, as well as any message they want.

Drawings of Texture Enveloping and Constructing the Body
Polish Artist Janusz Jurek gives his work a completely different feel to his silhouettes, by heavily texturing them in some cases, whilst in the other, the texture and filaments actually make up the body. Even though we are calling these images drawings, they look more like photographs of real sculptures, morphing into something in between the two, a 2d sculpture, if you like.
