Animal illustrations created with flora, foliage, seaweed and gold leaf.
Helen Ahpornsiri is based in East Sussex, UK.
The following are some words from the artist's page, explaining more about the process: "I work with a variety of flora, preferring fern and wildflower species. Flowers commonly considered weeds are unassuming yet familiar." And "A guiding principle I follow in working with natural materials is always to contribute more than I take."
She goes on explaining how most of her art supplies come from her garden. Plus: "The seaweed is foraged in small quantities at high tide when washed up on the strandline."
A fantastic and creative way of having nature symbolise the beauty of the animal world. Creatures from land, sky and water all included in this post and in these one of a kind pieces.
That's right, even if you wanted to create an animal, there is no chances of having the exact plant base to make a perfect replica.
Enjoy Ahpornsiri's inspired work.
