A collection of animals with a distinctive zentangle detailing flare. That is all but one. The little hummingbird. It's too beautiful, I had to add it in.
An artist that goes by the name of TemplemanArt drew all of the creatures you see on this page.
A Zentangle is an abstract drawing created using repetitive patterns according to the trademarked Zentangle Method. True Zentangle drawings are always created on 3.5 inch (8.9 cm) square tiles. They are always done in black ink on white paper with grey pencil shading. The style has now grown to encompass many different hybrids. The drawings you see in this post is one of those variations. If you look at the zentangle link in the first paragraph, you will be able to see many such variations.
Not only has the pattern been adapted to fill the body of an animal, there are also examples of colour ink and watercolor paint.
I really like the drawing of the whale. In this drawing I like both the animal and the application of these beautiful patterns. Just look at how they follow the curves of the being and the different anatomical parts, to separate and differentiate them.
The one I adore, though, is the image of the hare. The pose of the animal as it's running. The subtle use of watercolor paint to highlight this amazing looking critter. The use of the patterns go perfectly with the animal's contours and they define the 3D structure of the animal's body.
Have a look at this, the horse, phoenix and so many more...
Have a fantastic Sunday and I will see you in the morning of a brand new week of art.
