As well as expertly using this technique, Artist August Lamm teaches it though her book.
Very interesting portraits. Like the first one: "Double portrait - The man in the mirror commissioned me to draw his boyfriend." The second one is a favourite as well. The distorted and duplicated image.
I love the precision and subtlety of the hatching. It's so small and compact it makes it look like shading.
An example of this technique at larger scale can be appreciated in the last drawing. Talk about saving the best for last. If you zoom out the page, you can see how the lines slowly disappear and get a wonderfully heavily shaded portrait.
