A lovely tutorial selection of ink and pencil drawings. They are displayed in both sketch and realistic format.
Gangnam Metacode produced all of the beautiful art on this page.
There is a real elegance and precision about the illustrations below.
Let's look at the realistic ones first: The padlock and the glass marble. The first is enhanced by the simpler line drawing which precedes it. I almost see it as the line drawing plus clothing to reach the level of detailing of the realistic one. As far as the marble is concerned, I love the glowing patterns of the reflected and refracted light. It truly looks like the photo of the real thing.
When it comes to the line drawings, all of the segments are precisely drawn. Each piece is perfectly clean, with a total absence of mistakes. I think it's a real nice touch to leave the construction lines and to have them in a different colour. It truly adds to teh finish piece.
There are a number of drawings which show items which, whilst still in use, could be considered vintage and retro. Like: The dial telephone. The alarm clock. The Polaroid camera and most of all, the camera film. This last one, probably a virtual unknown to the younger generation. The complexity of taking, printing anf viewing picture then, compared with doing it now.
So much to see. Have fun going through them.
Ps. I gave the images some titles.
