Zentangle Patterns in Animal Drawings

Zentangle patterns encapsulated in animal drawings.

American artist that goes by the name of TakaTheSquirrel created all of the animal depictions you see on this page.

The following is what the artist does as a day job:  "I work at a museum.  That means that I spend 8 hours a day preparing exhibits, sorting and researching artifacts and photographs from mostly the 1800's."

Such a cool job must give so much inspiration when it comes to art.  A wonderful way of expressing art when travelling in time on a daily basis.

Zentangle is a style of drawing.  (If you press the link zentangle above, you can see more examples and some of them have a definition of this form of art.)  The patterns are removed from their classic square confines, to delineate the features of the animals they inhabit.

If i had to pick one drawing, it would be the second drawing down.  the one of the flying crane birds.  The motion paused in the artist's representation do nothing to slow these animals down.  The wings in different patterns of motion give that feel of flying everything you need to imagine yourself up there...
