A post full of lovely doodle drawings. Both in colour and in black and white.
Canadian Artist Jamie Hinog aka iamsuperjamie drew all of the art you see on this page.
Doodles are one of those styles that doesn't get a lot of praise. It is considered to bea juvenile form of art that true artists grow out of. Like all the best forms of art, it's all about the communication between the artist and the viewer. That is all that matters to me. The depth of a piece doesn't come from the medium you use, nor does it come from the style you adopt.
Another thing to keep in mind is there is a lot of detailing going on and the difficult arrangements in all of the parts of the drawing. There are different styles of doodles. This type is characterised by wall-to-wall drawing. That means that the area is saturated with characters and objects. They are packed tight next to each other. You can find them set at the side, on top, below, in front and behind. Sometimes they all help form letter/words. Other times they include a message, or they are there for the fun of it.
For me, none of this spells out a lack of depth, skill and beauty. Have a look at Hinog's work and enjoy the show this art puts on...
