It looks like ink and marker pens were used to depict these lovely sketchbook scenes.
Italian artist Giovanni Maisto drew all of the art you see on this page.
There are two different subjects at play in this post. The first seems to be the different aspects of life in Venice. That is where Maisto is from. The second involves creatures of different shapes and sizes.
There is something really captivating about seeing a drawing or a painting in a sketchbook. I don't understand the artists that elect to zoom in to avoid showing the edges of the page. On the other hand, the ones that embrace the sketchbook look, they sometimes add different objects around it to aid the presentation. This way is absolutely beautiful as well, with all of the wooden slats showing all around the sketchbook.
The drawing I like the most is the second one. I have seen some of the glass that comes out of Murano. A little island that is a part of or near Venice? The glass work is impeccably designed and masterfully shaped.
I'll my next pick is from the creature section. Drawing eight is where my next stop feels warrented. Look at those relaxed, serene expressions full of contentment. They have a smokey finish to their figures that puts them as deep as you can get into fantasy art.
A balance of reality and fantasy to see you through your Friday. I hope you enjoy the post and you find happiness and fantasy in your reality.
