Ghost Figures Charcoal Drawings

Ghost-like figures populate this artist's charcoal drawings.

Huihuabiji 姚治 drew all of the images you see on this page.

There are so many subtle details popping everywhere in the scenes.  Huihuabiji's touch is a truly delicate one.  Many of these drawings look like the movies' interpretation of a dream or a memory.  It kind of gently comes into existence and then just as quickly, out. 

Light exercises are a favourite of mine.  You can see it at work in drawing 3 in the restaurant scene.  I don't know what it is about them, they impress me every time.  This is a particularly complex arrangement that works just as well as it could.

My last mention for this post goes to the last drawing on this page.  That is the drawing of the sculptor.  The artist is sitting there amongst all of the heads created during long hours of intense work.  Huihuabiji had to draw all of them...
