Marriage of Traditional and Digital Art

Bosnian Artist and Illustrator, Boris Pelcer, produces his art in the Traditional way, with pencils, ink and acrylic, then he does some in Digital format and finally he creates some by mixing these two formats.  Can you guess, which is which, in the drawings below?  we have added, at the bottom of the post, a list that will reveal all, do not include the drawing above, when calculating the image numbers.

Traditional Art - Color Pencil Drawings

Artist Jennifer Healy describes her work as "somewhere between realism and stylism".  She has had an interest in art since a young age and took some art classes when she was a school.  Healy later continued to advance her artistic capabilities, by attending Art Workshops and by the inspiration other artist provided, mainly on the web.  She likes to produce both Digital and Traditional art, today we are going to focus on the latter and her coloured pencil drawings, mostly covering nature and women's portraits.  We have included an extensive video Healy shot, that should help the aspiring artist among us.

Traditional and Digital Celebrity Drawings

Artist Alexis Marcou uses mixed media, a careful blend of traditional and Digital Art to create his pieces.  He is employed by some of the biggest companies in the world, to create imagery to advertise and showcase their products.  He mainly uses graphite and is well known for his geometric lines and intricate shading.  Find some of the big names in sport and music, captured by Marcou's art, below.

Traditional and Digital Art Portraits in New York

Japanese Artist Kei Meguro, now lives and works in New York, as an Illustrator and Graphic Designer.  As the title suggests, she marries the best techniques of both worlds, Traditional and the Digital, to produce her drawings. This is a quote from Meguro on how she separates the tasks between them: "Since charcoal and graphite powder tend to get a bit messy, I scan my final drawings then clean up the smudges to achieve a crisper look in Photoshop. I also add color and play with layers of textures as well."

Visions of the future in Steampunk Digital & Traditional Art

French artist Didier Graffet has loved drawing and creating art since a young age.  He is drawn to creating imagery of travels, based on his favourite localities.  When he looks at a certain scene, Graffet allows his imagination to run, changing, manipulating and enhancing details to come up with a concept, totally different and fantastic.  If you like Steampunk, you will love the images in this post.
