19th Century Rail Viaduct House Reclaimed Space Architecture

A beautiful house, born from a small exterior space and nestled into an archway.
Undercurrent Architects designed this house, to make the best use of the land next to and underneath, a railway bridge in London.  I will use an extract from their site to allow them to paint a picture of the project:  "Archway Studios is a live-workspace built in and around a 19thC Victorian rail viaduct. The project works with the constraints of an inner-city, industrial site next to a train line, and the challenges of a fortified design that engages its surroundings."  The site is small and has severe light constraints, but as you can see from the pictures below, the outstanding architectural design, allows all of the spaces look airy and beautifully lit, by natural light.  A great model and advertisement for the the sometimes unused spaces below railway archers and a statement that not all of them have to be used for commercial purposes only.  The last valuation of the 2 bedroom South London house was, £1,085,000 (about $1,400,000).
