These lovely compositions were created by artist Anica Gabrovec. For those who haven't encountered this style, brief description of it:
"The original Zentangle drawings were always created on 3.5 inch (8.9 cm) square tiles; with a view that tiles could then form a larger pattern when brought together. Plus they were drawn in B&W."
The style has now morphed in many different directions: there are Zendoodles, which as the word suggests, are a mixture of the two styles. The zentangle patters are also used in combination with other kind of art, like animal drawings, where they are enveloped by these beautifully detailed and intricate patterns.
