Ukrainian artist Vitaliy Gonikman spent a long time creating art and trying to find a style and a subject that could use to represent him as an artist. He found surreal art to be the one that most inspired him and that gave him the greatest chance to express his thoughts and feelings through his drawings.

Architecture meets Body Painting in, Lost in Wonder
Body Painter Trina Merry shows us once again, why she is one of the best in her field. Merry and UK model Kyle James travelled around the world to visit and experience the Modern Wonders of the World. She visited each site at least 3 times. The fist, was to join a tour, to find out more about the history of the place, the people and the architecture. The second time was to soak in the atmosphere and to get in tune with her surroundings. The third was devoted to painting, that took 1 to 3 hours to complete. In these pictures Marry hopes to ignite our interest in the architectural wonder but also the people, the life they lived and the meaning behind the construction of these imposing structures. Following are links to more of Mary's work on DesignStack: "Astrology and Camouflage in Body Painting Art" and "Body Painting Artworks".

Even though this post is about miniature Star Wars Drawings, we wanted to add just a few more of his illustrations, as they are really cool, like for example, Charles Darwin with his Brain being 3D Printed, very deep and full of symbolism.

Marie Granmar and Charles Sacilotto converted an old summer house on the outskirts of Stockholm, Sweden into a "Nature House" by enclosing it with a green house. They got the idea from architect Bengt Warne, who designed the greenhouse. The Glass structure was built in 2005 (we think) out of 4mm security glass for the cost of 80,000 Euros. The sunlight can make a real difference as, a bit of sunshine in January, can bring the internal temperature upstairs, to 15-20°C, compared with -2°C outside. They collect rainwater and recycle grey water and toilet waste with an ingenious system designed by Sacilotto. They grow tomatoes, cucumbers, figs, grapes and have an internal fish pond. The structure is not there to maintain the temperature at a specific temperature, but rather, cuts their winter from 8 months about 5-6 months, and during the colder parts, it helps mitigate the weather, when the sun is out. via faircompanies.

Stephen Stum + Jason Hallman = Stallman (the name of their company) are partners in life and in work, they work together to produce their art that closely resembles Quilling. Quilling is rolled paper or card which is positioned to create intricate shapes. Stallman use painted canvas to play with the definitions of sculpture and paintings, creating these beautiful abstract creations. They use the background colors and the colors on the painted canvas strips, to bring about beautiful effects as the light reflects off of them, giving life to hues and shadows that change as your position in front of the piece changes. Lovely patters and colors but, the only way to receive the full experience, seems to be in-front of one of them.
If you key in quilling in the search bar in the top right hand corner of the page you will find many more quilling posts on DesignStack.

Charming Architectural wobbly Drawings and Paintings
British artist Chris Lee loves, to capture images of buildings, mostly off of the trodden path, in places where most people don't venture, in order to see architectural beauties. His About page, starts with "why I draw, and why I wobble" on this page he explains how he does not use photographs as references, nor pencil outlines. or rulers and erasers, just an ink pen. The really interesting thing is, the reaction he gets from fascinated and inquisitive people that crowd around him when he starts working. This happens in places where a tourist with a camera capturing the scene, would be seen as an intruder, someone invading the privacy of an area.

Jason Edmiston has been a Commercial Illustrator since 1996, producing work for advertisers, editorials, packaging and book publishing clients internationally. He creates his paintings with acrylic of watercolors, on paper or wood panels. The cool thing about his process is that, he uses his father as a model, to set-up the scene. He will take likenesses from screen grabs or photo references, but makes it his own by portraying the characters in novel, original poses. Quote from the artist: "When I have a concept sketch for a piece worked out, I pop over to my parents’ house and get my dad to dress up like the character while I set up lighting to match the scene. He’s very accommodating, and willing to pose in all sorts of ways, and always manages to get into character."
