Hotel Rooms Artistic Designs

Amazing display of art in these rooms, in the Hotel Fox in Copenhagen that has now gone. This project saw 21 Artists come together free of charge,  to decorate the 61 rooms with unique art.  The artists were given free range in what they could do, allowing them to choose everything from furniture, carpet and wallpaper.  The amazing variety of rooms in the Hotel, insured complete surprise, of the guests, when they entered their room for the first time.  More information about the fate of the Fox Hotel in the article.  Apart from liking the artwork you can use the inspiration to make a complete design transformation in a room of your house or every one?  To get the best effect, once in the article you can enlarge the image by pressing it (not the first one).

The Allotment Hotel

This all started with a competition from Tablet called Rethink Hotel, to find a design concept for a Hotel that would attract people from all over the city and would have a steady stream visitors, without fly by night gimmicks (popular today, gone tomorrow).  The winner was Freelance Architect Dean Moran with The Allotment Hotel proposed location, New York City.  There so much more to say, so we will be adding more information, in the article.  To get the best effect, once in the article you can enlarge the image by pressing it (not the first one).

Snoozebox Hotel, Mobile Architecture in Shipping Container Building

The Snoozebox Hotel is assembled using shipping containers, that can be transported on the site of any event and easily removed when it is over.  There is so much to say that we will just list the specifications.  Self-contained with different bedroom layouts, thermostatic climate control, en-suite wet room with toilet, basin and shower, a flat screen TV, double power points and free Wi-Fi connection.  The hotel is usually erected within 48 Hrs of arriving on site.  No external provision for electricity, water or sewerage are required, for Snoozebox to operate.  Minimum number of rooms that have to be ordered are 40 and maximum 400.  The site can be booked for one day or an entire season.  The Hotel can be moved by road, rail, air or sea anywhere in the world.  An amazing adaptation for the use of temporary Architecture.

Ark Hotel Architecture Reaching for the Future

Alexander Remizov from Russian firm Remistudio designed, with a strong input from the International Union of Architects program, Architecture For Disaster Relief.  When designing this structure Remizov had two considerations:  Humans need to be protected from some aspects of Nature and Nature needs to be protected from some aspects of Humanity.  This is a proposed building that is as comfortable on land as it is on the oceans.  It is designed to be self sufficient and is what is called, a closed functioning cycle, where food, energy, water and clean air are produced and the waste is recycled and put to use. Swiss Pod Hotel

All year round camping resort, Camping Flims, provides these Pod Hotel Rooms as an alternative to the tent.  These Pods are situated in Flims in Switzerland and the different sizes can accommodate between 2 and 7 people.  The pod is equipped with electricity and heating but no cooking facilities indoor or toilet.  As you can see in the photographs these light constructed buildings can provide a comfortable home during the hot summer and the cold winters.  Would you take your holidays in a small cabin like this? Pencil Shaving Portraits

Designer and Illustrator Kyle Bean displays a high degree of imagination by producing art and concepts from a variety of different products.  We have chosen 2 of them, the main one being the Pencil Shaving Portraits and the other one, the lion he constructed out of shredded hotel expense receipts.  We are given precise instructions, by the art critics, as to what constitutes good and $ valuable art, and this work, would just be looked as a play thing, with no merit, where a small dot in a huge canvas, we are told, is of more intellectual value.  What do you think?
